PRETZEL HEAD

The look of a yummy pretzel, without the salt. Just divide the hair into four sections, braid, cross over the two top braids to the opposite bottom braids then loop up the bottoms to the top and slip ends under the existing rubber bands. Easy peasy and sure to pleasy in under five minutes!

Sarah's favorite ballerina pose...

New bows to snaze up the look

And the result is a happy five year old.

What to do the day after braids

You have all been there. You have put your daughter in braids the day before, let her sleep in them and woke up to find hair that looks like the nest of a huge bald eagle. Don't even try to comb through it. Get out your handy dandy goody brush, comb it back into a fuzzy wad of hair and assemble it like a bun. Put your cute bow under the fuzzy wad and add the cute clips and BINGO, you have pimped hair in less than two minutes. (The thing that takes the longest is trying to open these little clips without shooting them across the room!

Giraffe Head

Straight out of the pool and into three ponies...good hot weather hair and matches the giraffe shirt if I do say so myself.

Neat and Tidy Heat Wave Hair

Sarah looks thin in her mug shot. When she gets home from school, I'm going to stuff her.

PRETTY HAIR FLOWERS

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how in style the pretty flowers are in the hair this year? I'm not just talking about for our kiddos either. I bought some at Michaels, tore them down to the bare petals, sewed them back together and put a pearl button in the middle and glued them to an alligator clip. Totally pimped up those posies! These would be gorgeous in bridal hair!
They are so darling and elegant.
If you don't want to mess around with the glue gun and work, Jessica (Every Little Detail) is still having her Spring Fever special going on through the end of Mayspring fever sale through May!! REMEMBER to enter SpringFever20 in the checkout!! (if you want to good price, and I know you all do)
Thanks again! (www.everylittledetailonline.com)

From Brunette to Blonde in one day!

Yes, done at home! We bought the Beyond the Zone lightening kit at Sally's. Then when that was done, it was brassy but nice so we used a medium blond color, after that we were scared because of the brassiness. We used a toner with violet in it and oila!!!!!! Gorgeous blond hair! You want to get the toner with blue and violet in it to get rid of the horrendous orange color. It works! The toner color actually looks grey and is darn scary to put on but does the job. We are thrilled and I am used to it now. Brittany loves it also but may decide to go back after the summer. In any case, it was something she wanted to try just to see what she looked like. Total cost was about 30 dollars but would have cost about 200 to have it done professionally in the steps (at least). Yeah, if I'm going to spend 200 bucks on hair...it will be mine! (that will be the day)

Can you see the teenager attitude showing on this pic....wanna slap her, don't ya?

Results of the Curlformers on Sarah

OK...here are the pics. They curlformers worked so much better when you sleep on them and don't try to dry them. Sarah never needed heat added to her hair and they are BOUNCY AND GORGEOUS! Note, I used the extra long and wide without any problem...one size fits all girls! It's about time.
This first picture is EXACTLY right after I pulled the pasta tubes out of her hair. I didn't touch it. You can see it is seperated at the crown. I didn't have a pic so I just used the end of my rattail comb and picked the curls through to lightly seperate them. The results are below. My rating A++++++ I love these things and may make a video if I get requests.

Sarah's Curlformer Experience...

She is bathed and all curlformed up. To be continued in the morning! (she better not wake up because of these suckers because I love my Friday night sleep!)

Notice that even though Sarah's hair should have been been in medium length Curlformers, we were able to easily use the Extra long ones. I really recommend these. They are not heavy and so your child won't complain. This way you know the Curlformers will fit everyone without ends sticking out. If you click on one of her pictures, it will get larger and you can actually see the hair in the curlformers. It doesn't matter if the hair doesn't reach the bottom. Just consider them "decorations" Sarah feels like a Queen Bee in them.
Also, make sure you alternate the colors. Each color curls a different way and this prevents the curls from sticking together. Plus they look cuter, snicker.

Told ya they were comfy.

CURLFORMERS....OUR EXPERIENCE THUS FAR

Everyone has been going nutso since the big curlformer deal at Sally's. I decided to swallow my cheapskate pride and buy them. I was going to get the package but I wanted the extra long and wide ones so I wound up paying about 70 bucks for all of it...yeah, i know, it hurt me too. Anyhow, here is our experience with the curlformers.
They were easy to put in. And fun actually. They do take FOREVER to dry on thick hair. We waited two hours and blew dry the curlers and they were still a little damp which is why we lost some curl. I think we will have to sleep in them and touch up with a dryer in the AM.
They are made from the plastic netting that patio furniture covers are made out of. They are durable and practically "undestroyable" unless in a fire! Then they would definately melt to your head.
They are easy to get out. The frizziness is gone. I put them in wet with curlformer spray in gel and infusium.
Here are the results. OH YEAH...Brittany is blonde for a while. Who says you can't go from dark brown to blonde in one day?
Brittany doesn't "love" curly hair. She did like it up though and pimped up with a wild headband.

In this picture below, we did nothing but pull them out and take the picture.

They are comfortable to lie on...and not heavy.

They just look darn cute.

The cute bag I store my curlformers in.

THE AA HAIR

This idea came straight from "The story of a princess and her hair". It is from her African American Hairstyles. She step by stepped it quite nicely and it was super easy to do (less than 10 minutes on a sopping wet head). I loved the result.

Pimp that dog

Just kidding, thought you might like to see a pic of our dog Truffle. Sarah pinned butterfly bows on him. If anyone wants to Pimp their pet, send me a photo and I'll post it.

LOOKING GREAT WHILE YOU AREN'T ACTING GREAT..

New Korky bows are darling. Sarah is posing and pretending she can really play the piano. Notice her hair is sopping wet. I always braid sopping wet hair. Does anyone else do this? It really does dry nicely.

Who says you can't look like a hot zebra while you pout and bawl at a eatery?

SPRING OUTFITS!

Grandma sent the dress. Mom designed the bows to match. Pimpin' spring chic ! Don't ask me why Sarah looks like a meanie when she poses....I try but I'm not a photographer. Work it girl, work it..

NEW BOWS MADE....cute stuff if I say so myself..

PROM HAIR IDEAS

Wish I would have taken a frontal pick. I just teased the hair mighty high for a *Poof* look. Combed it smooth, pinned fringe to sides, twisted the back into a half French twist and secured with bobbies. Added the sparkly headband and bango...pimped up prom hair in less than 10 minutes. If I could do it differently, I would twist the bangs on the side to hide the bobby pins better. In all, this looked so beautiful on her. We went to Target and got tons of complements. Too bad we didn't do something fancy!

PIMPIN' GWEN STEFANI HAIR !

All Rockin' girls love Gwen Stefani Hair. You can have this too. Let me know if you would like to see a video of achieving this hairstyle. Love it! I made my curl go forward for more of a "retro" look. It shows off the curl more.

New bows...cute ponies, and....flying monkies?

TRUE...I see the hair isn't at it's best but hey....who can compete when your kid is eating lucky charms..? They are magically delicious you know. Besides, I never proclaimed to be a professional. I was doing hair, making breakfast, feeding the dog, and making cookies at the same time.

Nutin' Fancy

Nothing particularly fancy, Sarah just wanted to show off her bows we just made. Boy was she a "fighter' this morning! Has anyone ever thought braids were going to be impossible? Now I have "mother guilt" for scolding her before school. Sheesh....

BOHEMIAN HAIR

Bohemian hair is HOT, HOT, HOT right now. Below is two examples. The first one was achieved by straightening the hair and making a headband out of your own hair. The second pics are done by waving the hair (we used the Conair Infinity deep wave curler) Then we added a "hippie" hairband. LOVE IT! Totally pimped up Britt's hair.

THE DOGGIE BOWS

Aren't these bows the greatest? New bows are fun.

Sarah wants to be sure you have a shot at her pretty nails in the pic.

EASY BREEZY HIKING HAIR

Today, Sarah is going on a field trip to the Ostrich Farm. She will feed them along with the deer and some Lorakeets. Then, they are having a picnic and hiking to see the wildflower gardens and butterflies. Fun day!

Take a good look at Sarah's face on this picture. She never wants to smile so I yelled, "Daddy wears DIAPERS"....it worked.

I noticed the hair really doesn't look that great in these pics but has deep waves in it and is gorgeous. Brittany and I scored a deep wave ceramic curling iron for 13 bucks yesterday! HOLY MOLIE! We bought two of course. Brittany and Sarah love their new Bohemian hairstyles.

HIPPIE CHIC

Old fashioned chignon with flower clips. Looks great with the tie-dye. Yes, I made it. Bringing back pleasant memories for you?

WOWZA...TWO FOR ONE

Today is Sarah's first trip to the dentist (it counts as first if it is the first time she actually lets them in the mouth, right? OK...so we didn't have any luck the first two times. Sad.

I'm lovin' these twist braids. They look so cute in her hair. You know, I wish I had someone to work on my hair. Sigh.

Sarah and Daddy went to a Ho-down so I thought it appropriate that she looked "tough". Scary.

OK, OK...I could have cropped out my steam mop but at least I clean.

UPDO

OK...fancy, I know...but we are getting a little practice in for formals as Brittany gets older. Here is her UPdo from different angles. I did this by tying hair into loops and pinning.
OHHHHH, look at it with the flower....makes it, don't ya think?

ROCKER GIRL

Sarah is really working the camera here....

The cool thing about the worms in the hair the day before is the wonderful big ole PUFF of curls you get the next day. Here is mighty rocker girl showing off for the camera. She is especially excited about this hairdo because it was FAST and SHE LOVES CURLY HAIR!

TUESDAY WORMS

Her hair needed to be a little longer to get the full effect. It wasn't nearly as cool as on the hairblog I saw it on. I twisted it until it curled on itself...thus, the worms. Ms. Sarah was patient for this one but so excited that I couldn't get her to hold still for the picture. Truffle (in background) however was calm and posed nicely...

MONDAY CURLS!

MADE WITH THE GOOD OLE FLAT IRON....the only way Sarah's hair can hold a curl!
On a sadder note, she didn't like being called Strawberry Shortcake at school...bummer.
